TRANSITIONS

Transitions
Eduardo Aispuro’s undulating paintings
protrude from the wall like waves.
Inspired by music and sound,
these works explore reverberation:
the interaction between sound,
space,
and listener.
The canvases stretch like skin
over soft, hard, or angular protrusions;
some are geometric,
some reminiscent of the body.
The play of light and shadow,
the body’s visceral responses to the surface
(and what lies beneath),
and the changing angles and proximity
as the viewer moves through the gallery;
all contribute to a quiet unfolding of subtle experiences.
All are transitory,
fleeting,
reverberations.
